Hi, I’m Vivek — a lawyer in the rhythm of routine, and a photographer, magazine editor, writer, and curious wanderer at heart. I live where logic meets longing — drawing lines by law, then blurring them through a lens.
Creative Genes is where my structured world flirts with the wild spirit of art — a space where contracts and creativity shake hands, and musings turn into meaning. It’s for those who dwell between structure and wonder — who find beauty in punctuation and sky, in captured light and crafted lines, stitching soul into every word, frame, and thought.
My Photography Journey (2009–2025)
What began in 2009 as a playful fling with borrowed point-and-shoot cameras, soon grew into a serious creative pursuit. By 2017, I was shooting destination weddings across Bangalore, Goa, and Kerala — with photographs published in Vistara Airlines’ in-flight magazine, despite being a full-time lawyer in a top-notch law firm.
My 2017 move to Mumbai was a colossal shift — I dove into studio lighting, retouching, and more intentional artistry, a completely unknown territory. Today, I balance the structure of corporate law with the soul of photography, creating personal, non-commercial work that keeps me learning, exploring, and chasing beauty.

My Style
To me, photography is meditation in motion — a quiet way of telling stories and finding the extraordinary in the everyday.
Drawn to landscapes and bustling streets, my love for abstraction and minimalism is what defines my style. Lines take the center stage in my compositions, and shades of grey personify my layered individuality. More than one-off shots, I aspire to craft visual narratives through long-form series.
For me, the idea is sacred — but so is the process, to translate that into reality. I shoot with intention and edit with restraint, keeping only what feels honest and essential.
My Inspiration
Michael Kenna’s quiet landscapes teach me to find meaning in stillness — to listen where silence and simplicity speak.
Cartier-Bresson’s street vision guides me to pause in the chaos and notice calm where it hides.
Minor White invites me to look beyond form, into the emotions beneath.
Chema Madoz reveals poetry in the everyday — reminding me that wonder lives in what we often overlook.
Together, they shape how I see: with patience, presence, and a hunger for hidden stories.
My Writing Journey
I write when silence says what photographs cannot. From Hindi poetry to old journal pages, writing has long been my refuge — a quiet conversation with the introverted child I once was.
My voice was shaped by legendary Hindi poets and the unwavering faith of my Hindi teacher, Veena Ma’am, who believed in me before I did.
When emotions run too deep for images, words shower like rain. What began as a childhood love now flows into this blog — where I reflect on artists’ mental health, the laws that protect creativity, and the personal stories that continue to shape my path.
