About the Contest & Organizer
KLPA is an independent annual global portrait photography prize which started in the year 2009. KLPA supports and rewards contemporary portraiture practice especially in the South East Asian region.

What the Jury is Looking for:
- Push the imagination beyond traditional self-portraiture.
- Use unconventional techniques or materials to explore identity, emotion, and the self.
- Employ diverse methods (analogue or digital) to create thought-provoking visuals.
- Show uniqueness, strong narrative, and conceptual depth.
- Work must stand alone; AI-generated images are not allowed.

Juno Calypso
A contemporary British artist (b. 1989), Juno Calypso is known for her cinematic and unsettling self-portraits featuring her fictional alter-ego, “Joyce”.
